Service
"Love one another as I have loved you." This is the commandment of Jesus. The goal of the Christian Service Program at Trenton Catholic Preparatory Academy, Inc. is to make a difference in the lives of others by living out the commandment of love.
SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. Christian service is an essential part of the TCPA curriculum all four years at TCPA, and is a requirement for graduation. The requirements for the 2021-2022 school year include- 15 hours or more of service to the poor, the elderly, young children, TCPA or other school, church, non-profit organization. (Due to CO-VID 19 restrictions, the number of hours is reduced from 25 hours.)
- One or more acts for justice or for care of the environment.
- A written reflection on your service and how you continued the mission of Jesus.
SERVICE POSSIBILITIES. While many non-profit organizations such as nursing homes, hospitals and soup kitchens are not accepting volunteers due to the pandemic, opportunities abound through TCPA, your church, your support of non-profit organizations, fundraisers for victims of natural disasters, food and clothing drives, etc. Works for care of the environment and involvement in actions for justice also count. Students must document all service and submit adult verification.
SERVICE PICTURES. Helping others is personally rewarding and often it is fun! Spread the Good News of what you are doing to make a difference in others' lives. Take a picture and email it to Sr. Barbara, for inclusion on TCPA website, publicity to the community, or on a hall bulletin board!
