In this exercise, we learned that when we recognize our strengths and those of our classmates, we fill our emotional buckets. At the same time, we learned that when we criticize ourselves or others, we take away or dip from those same buckets. We each decorated and personalized our own buckets (solo cups) and then began filling them. We first identified in ourselves an outstanding quality and put it in our own cup. Then, with a different colored sticky note, we identified a strength in a classmate, and put it in their cup. We also learn the simple but important talent of genuinely giving and accepting a compliments along with knowing how our friends and associates like to receive compliments.
