...AND THE 7TH & 8TH GRADE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS (ELA), 7A RELIGION, AND 7A HOMEROOM PAGE!
What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make. - Jane Goodall
Hello, my name is Mr. Chris Rhodes, and I am excited to be with you for the 2023-2024 school year. I look forward to creating a cohesive classroom filled with engaging students who are developing their voice and growing academically, personally and spiritually. This is my second year at TCPA, and I am excited to incorporate the family atmosphere displayed throughout the school into my classroom. I believe that I learn as much from the students as they do from me and each other. Each student is unique and brings their specials gifts to class everyday; gifts they can use to help each other grow and develop traits that will make them successful now and in the future.
DAILY REQUIREMENT FOR ALL ELA STUDENTS
YOU MUST HAVE PEN/PENCIL AND PAPER FOR CLASS! As my returning students have heard me say, "you need something to write with and something to write on." Just to clarify, your desk, someone else, the wall, and my desk cannot be used as something to write on!
Your notes will be a big part of your participation grade!
Please contact me at crhodes@trentoncatholicprep.org or if you have any questions, concerns, or simply want to say, "hello."
As alwaysI hope the week is off to a great start as we celebrate Women's History Month!
7th grade ELA - All homework is due the next day unless otherwise stated.
We are continuing our discussion of figurative language this week as we start working on onomatopoeias and finish the week working on Alliteration. Monday we will discuss onomatopoeias. Monday's homework is to create their own onomatopoeias. Tuesday students will practice for their mock trial and Wednesday they will perform the mock trial, so we will not have our regular class. We will continue our figurative language discussion on Thursday and Friday discussing alliteration. This is a fun section for students to use their creative minds in expressing and communicating their thoughts.
