Technology in the Lower School at TCPA encompasses many aspects of the digital world in which our students learn. Curriculum guidelines have been set forth by the Diocese of Trenton which incorporates ISTE and the state of New Jersey Curriculum Standards. Our shared mission is to provide a Catholic learning environment that will prepare our students to be knowledgeable, ethical, productive digital citizens in a global society. In grades 4-8 the students enjoy one-to-one computing. Students in PreK3 to grade 3 have access to iPads. Students in grades PreK3-8 visit the Lower School Technology Lab once a week to focus on STEM skills. Grades 6-8 participate in Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum which includes Design and Modeling (Engineering), App Creator and and also Computer Science Innovators and Makers. Our K-5 students have classes such as Grids and Games, Animals and Algorithims, Science and Flight and Automation and Robotics.
All TCPA students and staff must return a signed Technology Acceptable Use Agreement form, in order to use any technology equipment. This form indicates that students and staff will use the equipment appropriately and follow instructions. Students also agree to practice good "Netiquette" at all times.
